In the United States, May celebrates mental illness awareness month. Together help to fight stigma, provide support, educate the public and advocate for policies that support the millions of people in the U.S. affected by mental illness.
Additionally, May celebrates Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage and Jewish American Heritage. By celebrating heritage months, we learn about one another, we honor the richness of our diverse nation, and we strengthen the fabric of American society.

We invite you to join us for an after-work Summer Soirée and fund-raiser, June 8, 2023. It will be held at the historical Brooklyn Society of Ethical Culture (BSEC), 53 Prospect Park West, Brooklyn, NY 11215. The festivities begin at 5pm.
For a small $20 donation (PAY AT THE DOOR), enjoy a fun filled evening of Art, Live Music, and Spoken Word. Revel in drinks sponsored and poured by Den of Thieves Whisky. Delight in tasty finger food. Parking is available. We will also honor and say goodbye to hosting events at this location, home of the Brooklyn BSEC branch as it has been acquired by new owners. The McLeod Community Garden's Safe Halloween Celebration
A Halloween Spooktacular
Join us at The McLeod Community Garden in Brownsville, Brooklyn to collaboratively host a safe space for neighborhood children to celebrate Halloween. Please come dressed in your most creative costume with the children for fun activities, food and music. We will have a best costume contest and give out prizes for our winners.
Spread the word and we hope to see you there!
The McLeod Community Garden has been providing fresh food production, promoting community involvement and overall beautifying the neighborhood for many years in the Brownsville Brooklyn Community.

In partnership with Black Girl Fest, Glossier is taking its grant program for Black-owned brands across the Atlantic to the U.K. Five founders will be selected for a 10 thousand pound equity-free grant and will take a 12-week curriculum on scaling businesses with access to Glossier's leadership team and external partners. November is also National Native American Heritage Month in the United States. This month-long observance is dedicated to celebrating the rich history, culture, and traditions of Native Americans, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and affiliated Island communities.

April is National Month of Hope
This Month Celebrate the Power of Hope
April was designated as National Month of Hope in 2018 by the not-for-profit organization, Mothers in Crisis to convey the importance of hope around the world. It can become a little hard to hold onto hope during challenging times but cultivating optimism, practicing gratitude, and looking for hope in unexpected places can help rediscover hope during tough times. It is also National Poetry Month. Launched by the Academy of American Poets in April 1996, National Poetry Month is a special occasion that celebrates poets’ integral role in our culture. Poetry matters! Poems remind us that hope is deeper than mere optimism—it’s a resilient force that sustains us even in the face of adversity. Also noted awarenesses this month are volunteer month, stress awareness, safe digging and National Arab American Heritage Month.
